Why previews in the Hubbo admin app do not consume page views and how to test safely before going live.
Hubbo distinguishes between previews inside the admin app and production traffic on your real website. They behave differently on purpose.
When you edit a notification, NPS, survey, roadmap or status page in app.hubbo.io you see a live preview. Signed-in admin previews do not count toward your page-view allowance (the API requires a verified team member on a Hubbo preview host — Origin alone is not enough).
Public app.hubbo.io pages count
The public notification page, roadmap and status page live on app.hubbo.io and count visitor sessions like your own site (once per browser session). Only the signed-in editor preview skips counting.
Production means a real visitor on your site, with the embed snippet installed. The first load in each browser session counts one page view for your account. Visits to hubbo.io and www.hubbo.io are counted as production too.
| Where the widget runs | Counts a page view? |
|---|---|
| Your own site (the origin in your account) | Yes, once per browser session |
| hubbo.io and www.hubbo.io | Yes, once per browser session |
| Signed-in admin preview on app.hubbo.io | No |
| Public notification / roadmap / status page on app.hubbo.io | Yes, once per browser session |
/embed and /graphql requests succeed.Production testing consumes usage
Each new browser session on your real origin counts. If you test with many private windows on your live site, each one is a new session. Prefer the admin preview for visual checks.
When the allowance is used up
If your plan allowance is exhausted, the API reports usageAllowed: false for your account and the embed shows no widgets until you upgrade or the next billing period starts. See usageAllowed.
